Salads are always a good choice for me. Before I explored the world of healthy foods, I had this imagination that salads are boring. It’s just eating leaves right? Wrong! Salads are the definition of variety. There is just so much you can do, add, spice up and even play around with cold and hot salads.
One of my favourite salads is the Warm Pear & Feta salad, which is also loved by my family. Not only is it quick to make, it’s super simple and yet so beautifully delicious!
The pear is warmed, whereas the rest of the salad remains cold, giving your taste buds a variety of flavours, textures and temperatures.
What you’ll need:
- 1 pear
- 1/4 cup feta in cubes
- 1 cup of rocket salad (or other salads, like kale or mixed leaves)
- 2 tbsp flaked almonds
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tbsp vinegar or balsamic vinegar sauce
- 1 tsp honey (optional)
- Sea salt and pepper
Now let’s get to making the salad and of course eating it! This salad serves one, so if you’re feeding a family or a partner too, make sure to up the ingredients!
The method:
Cut pears into cubes and bake on 180 degrees for 10 minutes (it is optional whether you want to skin the pear. I leave the skin on). Put salad in bowl, top with feta, almonds and the cooked pears. Mix olive oil with vinegar, honey(optional) and seasoning and pour over salad. Alternatively use balsamic vinegar sauce.
Serve immediately.
Enjoy.
Now wasn’t that a super simple salad? I don’t think it can get easier than that, however it’s so delicious I just had to share it with you! I hope you enjoy it. If you make it, tag in your photos, you can find my social handles in the header of my website.
